DIY Vinegar and Essential Oil All-Purpose Cleaner

Vinegar is great alternative to harsh chemical based cleaning products. It’s as natural as you can get, cheap and in fact, one of the most efficient product to clean 90% of your home with. Let’s explore how to make your own vinegar based cleaning product and some possible uses for it in your routine cleaning processes.

DIY Vinegar and Essential Oil All-Purpose Cleaner

>You’ll need a refillable glass spray bottle, these cut down on needless plastic waste while also allowing you to play around with the essential oil mix in order to figure out your favorite scent.

>Pick either one or two of your favorite essential oil scents to use in your spray. We recommend you try out a mix of lavender and lemon, peppermint and eucalyptus, or other citrus oils such as grapefruit and bergamot.

>Mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar with 1 and a 1/2 cup of water and 30 total drops of essential oils. Try out 15 drops of lavender, and 15 drops of lemon essential oil for example.

>Shake well before use!

What can I use vinegar to clean?

The kitchen and bathroom sinks, shower and bathtub

The floors

The refrigerator

The stovetop

The coffee machine, oven, dishwasher and kettle – by using a 50/50 water/vinegar solution and omitting the essential oils

What shouldn’t I use vinegar to clean?

Marble/Granite/Soapstone countertops – any surface that can’t take acidity.

Wood furniture 

Hardwood floors

Anything egg based – If you accidentally cracked an egg on your floor, don’t use vinegar in any form to clean it up. It’ll create a glue like substance that’ll stick to anything you try to mop it up with.
