Miles4Migrants, is an charity that lets you donate your frequent flyers miles to help people impacted by war, persecution, or disaster escape from danger.

How do they work

By partnering with other nonprofits to identify refugees, asylees, asylum-seekers, and their immediate family members who have legal approval to travel, but cannot afford airfare, Miles4Migrant uses the donated airmiles to book them a flight to a new home and the promise of a better future. Miles4Migrants has already helped over 4,800 people using over 79 million points and miles!

Why it matters

The individuals Miles4Migrants help have had to go through extraordinary life situations to escape danger and relocate to a safe environment. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at least 82.4 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes. Among them are nearly 26.4 million refugees, around half of whom are under the age of 18.

By doing something as easy as giving your miles away you can literally change someone’s life, a deeply human and impactful initiative.

Miles4Migrants accept miles and points from most major airline and credit card programs. Don’t have enough miles and still want to help? You can make a cash donation that will go towards paying airport fees.
