3 Podcasts on Being Human

Written by SWAY

Life, we are all going through it, and what a glorious, emotional ride it is. It’s not easy, no one gave us the map and frankly we can all do at times with someone shining some light on how they do it , and putting some perspective on the fact that after all: life is messy. Enter these three podcasts, that will make you embrace all parts of our humanhood, the good and the less good ( or so it seems at first).

How To Fail

Because we are only as good as our failures, Elizabeth Day interviews with compassion and candour some of the world’s most renown public figures, artists, writers, chefs on what their failures taught them. As it turns out, failures are universal, epic failures too. But in the end if we are willing to look at them with compassion, they really teach us how to succeed better. Truly a balm for the heart!

On Purpose

Hosted by Jay Shetty, On Purpose is a podcast with a clear mission: making wisdom and mindfulness go viral. Jay spent ten years living as a monk in India before returnig to the UK, meeting his wife and embarking on a new adventure as podcast host, mindfulness coach and educator ( among a plethora of other things). Seeing the benefits the monk mindset had on his life once he had gone back to being a normal civilian, Jay knew he had to share those mindfulness tools with the world. Some episodes of the podcast are dedicated to Jay’s own teachings on mindfulness , others are conversations between Jay and health experts, leaders, thinkers or artists, truly anyone we can learn something from. From Novak Djokovic to Oprah Winfrey, via Jane Goodall, Jay knows how to get the best out of people and you can be sure you’ll learn something every episode, perhaps even have a few ‘Aha moments!’.
